Cider Experiences

... for individuals

In the spirit of innovation and our respect for tradition, we would like to offer you new and different gastronomical and cultural experiences perfect for spending a special day. We offer you three different “Cider Experiences” that will leave you satisfied:

Bereziartua Ciderhouse, located in Astigarraga, is a renowned benchmark cider producer in The Basque Country. There is evidence that cider has been produced in Bereziartua since 1870 and nowadays the fourth generation continues with the family tradition.

You will have the opportunity to visit our cellar and try our different cider form straight form the “txotx “ (barrel) and bottle.

In txotx season this experience can be accompanied by a meal or dinner enjoying our typical cider house menu.

In this experience, you will have the possibility of visiting a large ciderhouse where you will learn how cider is produced. After the visit, you will enjoy a lunch/dinner in Astigarraga where you will try the typical dishes of the Basque cuisine paired with our different ciders:

There are 3 different menus:

Menu 1:

  • Txistorra Ezkurtxerri (sausage typical of the basque country).
  • Crispy shrimp and fresh basil salad.
  • Faroe cod with fried green peppers.
  • Grilled beef cutlet.
  • Milk curd with apple jelly.
  • Coffee, bread and Bereziartua cider tasting.

Menu 2:

  • Artisan foie terrine with apple jelly and currants.
  • Grilled squid salad with fresh vinaigrette.
  • Mini king crab made in the Donostian way.
  • Faroe cod with wild mushrooms (hongos) in pil-pil sause.
  • Grilled beef cutlet.
  • Roasted apple pie, chocolate and Cointreau.
  • Coffee, bread and Bereziartua cider tasting.

Menu 3:

  • Iberian acorn-fed pork loin and jam.
  • Artisan foie terrine with apple jelly and currants.
  • ½ lobster roasted and flambéed with Bourbon.
  • Sirloin steak filled with foie with sautéed wild mushrooms (hongos).
  • Filo pastry with textures of chocolate  and tangerine ice-cream. 
  • Coffee, bread and Bereziartua cider tasting.

During the Txotx season (traditional period of time for tasting the cider straight from the barrel), you will also have the possibility to enjoy the traditional menu:

  • Cod omelette.
  • Fried cod with green peppers.
  • Beef cutlet.
  • Dessert of cheese, quince jelly and walnuts.
  • All washed down with our ciders from the txotx (barrel).

You will visit 2 different family cellars that produce cider and txakolí ( a wine typical from the Basque Country) and where you will have the opportunity to learn about those typical Basque Drinks. You will have the opportunity to taste them too accompanied with some Basque delicacies. Total estimated time for both visits  approx 2 hours. 

During the Txotx season (traditional period of time for tasting the cider straight from the barrel), you will also have the possibility to enjoy the traditional menu:

  • Cod omelette.
  • Fried cod with green peppers.
  • Beef cutlet.
  • Dessert of cheese, quince jelly and walnuts.
  • All washed down with our ciders from the txotx (barrel).
